Since its inception in September 2007 the Project Support of Measures to Strengthen the Peace Process (STPP) of the German Development Cooperation has been implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction in a bid to sustain Nepal’s delicate peace process following tem years of civil war .

Project extends basic  assistance to 24 of the 28 cantontments (6 divisions)of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in three major components as follows :

1. Health
2. Water and Sanitation
3. Skills Development

As per the agreement with MoPR of Nepal, GTZ-STPP envisions to upgrade the existing skill level of PLA in Division 2. A base line survey was conducted to identify the existing skills of the PLA. A pre assessment was done to assess the level of existing skills . Based on that bridge course curricula have been designed in order to enable the PLA to upgrade their skills to next higher level according to the standards set by the NSTB of CTEVT
